Gennifer's Giveaway Session

Earlier in the fall my friend at Union County Macaroni Kid offered one of my family sessions as a giveaway. Gennifer was the lucky winner, and after a few rescheduled days due to bad weather we were finally able to meet up for our session in Waxhaw. Her oldest is sweet and full of energy and love for his baby brother! We were delighted to see the train was coming through, but it caught him by surprise when the train blew the whistle and it was really loud!

Congratulations Gennifer, I hope you enjoy these sweet memories!

Check out the Union County Macaroni Kid website for fun events and happenings in our area. She is great at posting LIVE videos when at the many events she attends. It is a great resource for family fun!

Hannah's Family Session

The first time I drove through downtown Matthews, I knew I would end up loving it, so I was so excited when Hannah told me she wanted to take her fall family photos there. We had such a relaxed session playing in the leaves, walking around downtown, and soaking up the sunshine and beautiful fall colors. I was grateful for this afternoon and the opportunity to meet and photograph this sweet family.

Amanda's Fall Family Session

I have been taking photographs of Amanda and her family for the past few years, and I love seeing how their boys grow each year. They are such kind, polite, fun boys! This year was especially exciting as they added a puppy to their family. Baxter was so patient for this photo session. Thank you, Price family, for allowing me to capture some sweet new memories for you!

Jen's Fall Family Session

I love meeting new families and was so excited to meet Jen and her lovely family. It was a chilly fall morning when we met in Independence Park in Charlotte, but these kiddos did great! Their favorite part was playing in the leaves while soaking up the sunshine!

Check out this sweet girl’s fancy pose! She wasn’t interested in sitting on anyone’s lap or being held so as soon as she got loose she gave me this pose. You do you, baby girl!

Garfield/Weldy Family at Potters Market Farm

I had so much fun with my friend Jessica and her sweet family on this lovely afternoon at the farm. Big thanks to Adam at Potters Market Farm for allowing us to spend time there and climb on his beautiful vintage tractor.

Jessica & Nick, Thank you for inviting me to share these special moments with you and your sweet kiddos!

Look for Adam at the Waxhaw Farmers Market on Saturdays for his fresh produce and gorgeous handmade wood crafts. https://www.facebook.com/PottersMarketFarms/

Niki's Family Session

I had such a fun playful session with Niki and her sweet soon to be family of four! I had an instant connection with them since they recently moved here from Maine, and that is where I grew up. Her sweet little one exudes pure joy! Just look at those smiles! I loved everything about this session, the light, the love, the joy, the colors, except the cold! It was really cold on this afternoon (North Carolina cold, not Maine cold). But you would never know looking at them. Their warmth filled all of us up!

Congratulations Niki, and best wishes to you and your family for your new little one!

Sweet Campbell Family

I was lucky to spend a recent afternoon with this sweet family! The tiniest member wasn’t really interested in her photo session, but when she wanted to be photographed and smile she stole the show! These two lovely little girls each had such sweet tender moments with their mommy and daddy.

So much love in this family!

The Sewell Family

I love when families decide to include their fur babies in their photo sessions. I was so excited to meet Meatball and Porkchop (gosh I love those names)! Their baby brother was so excited to have his picture taken! His sweet smile and laugh was the best! So thankful for sunny days, and sweet families that let me share some memories with them.

Kate's Family Session

I was fortunate to share a lovely afternoon with Kate and her sweet family. The sun wrapped it’s warmth around us as we enjoyed the last light of the evening and shared lots of giggles and smiles. Can we talk about this handsome little guy and his gorgeous blue eyes? (They are even more incredible in person!) He is excited to be a big brother next month. Wishing Kate and her family so much love and happiness this season! Congratulations!

Sweet little pumpkins

I love so many things about fall, but one of my favorites is seeing all the sweet families that have graciously allowed me to photograph them over the last few years. These kiddos are sweet and full of energy and I love watching them grow. Someday I will post some side-by-side comparisons of them over the years, but for now, here they are with all their pumpkins and one very special well loved little Elmo.

Sarah & Will's Engagement Session

I had so much fun photographing Sarah and Will for their recent engagement session in Uptown Charlotte! They met on a whim at a location neither frequented very often (The Brass Tap), and found they had much in common. I think fate had a strong hand in bringing these two together. Both of them had sweet rescue pups prior to meeting and once all four of them got together it really was true love! There was a moment towards the end of our session where a sweet love song was playing nearby, the end of summer breeze was warm and wrapped itself around us while we were shooting, and there was endless overflowing love between these two!

It caught me by surprise and I felt a little emotional, and so happy to be there in that moment doing what I love to do!

I’m so happy for Will and Sarah and their sweet doggies, and wish them a lifetime of love!

Alex's Maternity Session

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet couple. They are expecting baby #2 any day now and I wish them so much happiness in this new adventure as a family of four! Congratulations!

A LEGO Birthday Party for James!

Back in July, my local Facebook mom’s group had a post from a mama looking for places to buy some inexpensive Legos for her son’s birthday. Times had been tough for this family financially, emotionally, medically, and they were just dealing with a lot. After some discussion she shared that her son James had never had a birthday party, or felt included due to his differences, he never had playdates or friends.

This incredible community of mamas that I belong to, rallied to change all of that.

In a couple of days, they planned the greatest Lego birthday celebration for James! A few angel moms took on the planning role and one of them generously offered her house and backyard for the party. They had balloon artists, Legos donated from Belk and other moms, Lego tables, sensory bins donated by an incredible momtrepreneur, a huge balloon garland made by a mama (She set it up in 90+ degrees while baby-wearing, by the way!), cakes and cupcakes made by local moms, donations for snacks, water, pizza for 50 people! I felt a strong connection and knew I needed to help, so I offered to document the party and capture all the sweet moments for James and his family. The invite was extended to our mom community, and the turnout was huge!

James was surrounded by new friends, activities, toys, gifts, experiences he has never had and so much love! James' mom said it was the best day their family has had in a very long time and one of the best days of her life. James had such a great day, and he saved all the cards and put them on the walls of his bedroom, so he could “have a sleepover with all of his new friends.” It was a great day of love and inclusion for everyone!

It was a truly amazing day, and still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
